Roberto Villarreal is an emerging artist whose practice is rooted in curiosity and material exploration. Working across sculpture, craft, and mixed media, he approaches making as a collaboration with the material allowing it to move, resist, and guide the outcome. Rather than imposing control, Villarreal treats each process as a dialogue, discovering form through repetition, accident, and response.

With a background in ceramics, he continues to build upon traditional sculpting techniques while experimenting with wax, felt, plaster, and metal. His works often grow out of one another, connected by an ongoing search for balance between intention and intuition. In embracing process over perfection, Villarreal’s practice reflects a developing voice shaped by transformation, patience, and the act of listening to what materials want to become.
